Throughout her forty-year career in journalism, Ms. Lewis has traveled to Africa, Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and Central America. She has lectured on Third World Affairs at over 100 colleges and universities throughout the United States and abroad. Ms. Lewis is currently the editor-in-chief of The New Crisis Magazine, the oldest African-American journal. She is the first woman to serve in this capacity.
