Dr. Vigil received her PhD from the University of Kansas in 2000. She taught argumentation, persuasion, political communication, and oratory courses at the State University of New York, College at Oneonta, before joining the BU faculty. Dr. Vigil currently teaches graduate and undergraduate theory, research, and media courses. Her varied research interests include political communication, media, and popular culture. Dr. Vigil is a coauthor of The Third Agenda in U.S. Presidential Debates: DebateWatch and Viewer Reactions, 1996–2004, a longitudinal study of presidential and vice-presidential debates. Her recent projects focus on political rhetoric, media, and public influence.
