Compliance Requirements for Students

School of Public Health Policy

In order to register for courses at the University, both full-time and part-time students must comply with the following two policies.

Boston University uses an on-demand alert and response system called Send Word Now. In the event of a campus emergency, Send Word Now’s technology allows contact with the entire campus community immediately through a variety of electronic means, including text messaging, email, and voice mail. To ensure the effectiveness of this system, students need to provide a BU alert phone number on the Student Link.

Massachusetts law requires that students be immunized against a number of diseases in order to attend university in the Commonwealth. Boston University strictly enforces this policy. Student registration will be blocked if the required shot information is not submitted. There is a seven-day grace period after the first day of classes to submit this information. This information must be submitted on the Boston University Medical History and Physical Report form, which must be signed by a doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant.
