The Henry Purcell Society of Boston presents a night of opera, theater and bawdy songs and duets on April 10, featuring some of our favorite musicians and selections from past performances including “Welcome to all the pleasures,” for strings and voices, an appearance by Boston’s own Renaissance men (www.renmen.com), and a Silent Auction. The hour-long musical program will include incidental theatre music from last fall’s concert at Rockports Shalin Liu Center, in which our fledgling Society “proved its staying power and continuing promise of bringing fresh, enriching, and entertaining Baroque programming to this city’s already abundant early music scene.” (Boston Musical Intelligencer).

$10 students- includes reception. RSVP by Friday, 4/8 to Purcellsociety@gmail.com

Jessica Cooper and Sarah Moyer, sopranos, Sophie Michaux, mezzo-soprano, Charles Blandy, Eric Christopher Perry, tenors, Jacob Scharfman, baritone with Ian Watson, Harpsichord, Sarah Freiburg, violoncello, Sarah Ibbetts & Asako Takeuchi, violins, and Anna Griffis, viola.

Following the concert, we will offer a WINE AND BEER RECEPTION where the Renaissance Men will perform a variety of Purcells a cappella bawdy and lighthearted catches while you relax and peruse our SILENT AUCTION.
