Guest lecturer Travis Sheehan will present to class UA 617: Actionable Sustainability on the Boston Community Energy Study, which explores the potential for local energy generation, district energy and microgrids. The Study is a collaboration between The Mayor’s Office of Environment Energy and Open Spaces, the Boston Redevelopment Authority, MIT Sustainable Design Lab and MIT Lincoln Laboratory. About the speaker: Travis is the Energy Fellow at Boston Redevelopment Agency, the City’s economic development and planning agency. Travis has worked for the last 2 years to develop energy planning capabilities, including a regional infrastructure studies, policy development scenario planning workshops, and trade article – focusing on innovative energy technologies. Before joining the BRA, Travis worked in environmental consulting and development advisory for projects in the US and India. He graduated with a double-masters from MIT in energy planning.
