Bee Keeper Rescues a Swarm
As a service provider, Facilities Management & Planning is called into many unusual situations. Our Plumbing Manager and Commencement Czar, Bill Murray, was asked to relocate an active swarm of honey bees from the pedestrian way behind 10 Buick Street. He came in early and saved the day again ensuring the safety of the the bees as well as the thousands of students and visitors on campus for Commencement!
This is not the first time that Murray has come to the rescue of these uninvited guests before BU’s commencement ceremony. In 2012 Murray was able to safely remove a hive of more than 5,000 bees occupying a folding chair on Nickerson field less than an hour before the ceremony started.
