Myles Standish Hall – Construction Activity – Week of 5/8/16

For the week of May 8, 2016:

Work taking place this week will not make any noise so as not to disturb the students during finals week. Work will begin at 7 a.m. and deliveries to the site will start at 8 a.m. All deliveries will enter the site through the Bay State Road entrance and will use one elevator to get stock to the basement.

Electricians will be installing temporary fire alarm and temporary power and lighting on the first floor in the phase 1 area, the Annex, and rooms 223, 323 ,423, 823, and 923. This work will not interfere with any student activities or move out. In the Annex basement, electricians will also be performing make-safe work. Electricians will also be drilling holes from the inside of the building to the outside to pull wires and mount outlets for exterior work.

HVAC workers will continue investigating the basement and marking existing piping.

Plumbers will be onsite to start installing a temporary water loop for construction, with work taking place in the basement and on the first floor.

Tel/data and security system investigations will start next week.
