Verifi, LLC Overview Verifi LLC, a subsidiary of W.R. Grace, is the world leader in in-transit management of concrete delivery. Verifi systems have measured and recorded over 10 million cubic yards of concrete as of June, 2015, and are active on over 1000 concrete trucks throughout North America and the UK. The parent company, W.R. Grace offers specialty chemical products in over 150 countries around the world. Position Purpose Software Engineer, Cloud Systems, is responsible for coding, requirements, and testing of the core cloud-based information systems for Verifi. These systems gather real-time data from the concrete trucks, parse and understand the state of the concrete and the delivery cycles, store the data to big-data tables in Cassandra, and export the data for use in research and analytics. Cloud systems also include a large, multifunctional real-time webbased portal for customers and internal employees to interact with trucks and data. Other cloud systems include maintenance and enhancements for iPhone mobile applications and real-time REST interfaces used to serve data to customers and partners.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, code, and test high-quality new features in Java backend message processing systems.
• Design and create new UI portal features in AngularJS, Javascript, HTML, CSS.
• Create REST services in Java.
• Design, code, and test new features for mobile applications using cordova and angular.
• Research and suggest new technologies and approaches as needed to solve problems for the cloud systems and infrastructure.
Basic Requirements
• 4-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent 3-4 years of experience.
• Demonstrable proficiency in Java or Javascript
• Good understanding of the concepts of version control, project management, software lifecycle, and unit testing
• Working knowledge of database technologies, SQL and NOSQL
Additional (Preferred) Requirements
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with NOSQL database such as Cassandra
• Bash shell scripting, code deployment environments
• GWTNetworking, web security, Amazon EC2, eclipse, Linux, apache, modcluster (load balancing)
