Internal IT Administrator – Internship
The position primarily provides the company with an initial point of contact for end-users to receive support and maintenance within the organization’s computing environment. This person will troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via e-mail/IM) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all user laptop hardware/software to ensure optimal performance and security. This also includes administration of cloud hosted services including email, as well as internal user directory and DHCP/DNS administration. The position is responsible for proper escalation to the appropriate senior level person when escalation is needed.
Key initiatives for this role:
- End-user support.
- Roll-out the company’s documented “Endpoint Standards” to 20+ laptops which includes data encryption, backups, and security software including AV/Anti-Malware etc.
- Build mock Security Operations Center (SOC) to centralize company’s security event correlation and alert notifications/workflow.
- Conduct focused Information/Cyber Security market research.
The candidate will report to the Director of Information Security Services.
Qualifications:
- Ability to deliver results in a small, fast-paced environment.
Detail oriented, self-directed daily activity.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated, can-do attitude to find resolution to issues.
Experience fixing desktop/laptop technical issues.
General knowledge of information/cyber security.
Knowledge of Windows and MAC operating systems, Microsoft Office suite
Education:
- High School Diploma required.
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Information
- Technology/Information Security/Computer Science preferred.
