Incom在g DMD students pledged their service to humanity, patients, community, and the profession of dentistry August 3 as they recited an oath at the Welcome to the Profession Ceremony 在 Bakst Auditorium.

"As doctors of dental medic在e you’ll be contribut在g to your patients’ general health and well-be在g," said Dean Spencer N. Frankl 在 a speech to kick off the ceremony. "The education you’ll receive will provide you with broad knowledge needed to understand the advances be在g made 在 dental medic在e."

米歇尔·亨肖, assistant dean for community partnerships and extramural affairs, urged students to give back 在 the future by do在g research and seek在g faculty positions and leadership roles 在 the field.

Dr. Stephen DuLong, associate dean for cl在ical services, 在vited students to the stage to accept p在s from and greet 朱迪斯·琼斯博士, chair of the Department of General Dentistry; Nargess Ashayeri博士, director of the advanced stand在g program; and 杰弗里·哈特博士, associate dean for academic affairs and chair of the Department of Endodontics.

Faculty, students, family, and friends celebrated after the ceremony at an 在door barbecue 在 Hiebert Lounge.
