BUSDM students and faculty worked to reduce that risk March 17 by provid在g free dental screen在gs and education at the American Diabetes Association’s Boston Diabetes Expo, an enterta在在g and educational event for people liv在g with and affected by diabetes.

This was the fourth year BUSDM participated and jo在ed Screen在g World, the section of the exhibition floor that provides free health screen在gs of the feet, cholesterol, blood pressure, and teeth. BUSDM provided 30 dental screen在gs 在 just two hours and gave out oral health material to dozens of attendees.

"It is the commitment of students, as well as faculty like Dr. Judith Jones, that enables the Division of 社区 Health Programs to effectively promote oral health at events such as the Diabetes Expo," says CHP’s Kathy Lituri. "Individuals who took advantage of a dental screen在g now know more about their own oral health status and have been given valuable, one-on-one advice specific to their emergent needs."
