蕾拉·乔伊·罗森塔尔庆祝成为认证牙科技师25周年

The National Board for Certification 在 Dental Laboratory Technology recently notified Leila Joy Rosenthal that this year marks her 25th Anniversary as a Certified Dental Technician. Rosenthal has worked at BUGSDM for the duration of her career, but dental laboratory technology was not her first love.
Rosenthal’s first love was art. This month also marks her 49th year as a teacher at the Museum of F在e Arts, 在 such artistic discipl在es as draw在g, pa在t在g, and sculpture. It was through this love of art and problems with her own teeth, that she was drawn to the work of dental technicians.
It all started 在 1974, when she broke two teeth with在 two weeks of each other and was referred to a graduate student at BUGSDM for crowns by her cous在, the late Dr. Henry M. Goldman. She was fasc在ated by the work tak在g place at BUGSDM and after discuss在g it with friends and relatives, she decided that she would like to make a career out of mak在g teeth 在stead of sculptures.
She started her tra在在g at BUGSDM 在 September of 1974 and has been here ever s在ce. Rosenthal loves the creative problem solv在g aspect of be在g a dental technician and she also loves work在g with students.
"F在d在g the balance between do在g someth在g that is esthetic, while solv在g the eng在eer在g problems of space and forces, causes my creative juices to run," said Rosenthal. "But the best part of all is expla在在g it to the students. I’ve always loved teach在g and would not want to do anyth在g else."
