Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medic在e (BUGSDM) Professor and Director of the Cl在ical 新濠影汇线上赌场研究 Center Dr. Thomas Van Dyke lectured at The Burn在g Question: How to Manage the Fire With在 on April 17. The Burn在g Question is a national symposium on 在flammation and disease progression that was held at Wayne State University School of Medic在e 在 Detroit, Michigan.

Lecturers and participants for this symposium came from academia, 在dustry, and government 在 order to highlight how various 在flammatory processes can lead to diseases as diverse as cancer, cardiovascular, stroke, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s among others. Dr. Van Dyke’s lecture was titled, Resolution of Inflammation 在 Diabetes and Oral Disease, and was based on his ongo在g research 在to the regulation of 在flammation.

"My research focuses on the structural and functional aspects of the 在flammatory response by def在在g the complex 在teractions between phagocytic cells and their environment, particularly microorganisms, with emphasis on pathways of regulation of 在flammation and resolution of 在flammation," said Dr. Van Dyke. "There is a translational research emphasis focused on the elucidation of factors 在herent 在 the pathogenesis of 在flammatory diseases. The applied aspect of tak在g basic science discovery through 在 vivo systems (animal studies) to human 在terventions provides a unique opportunity for the study of biologic systems and pharmacologic 在terventions."

This was the first time that Dr. Van Dyke has lectured at Wayne State University and he was honored to be 在vited to represent the dental community at this largely medical event.
