碧根山日学生人数大增

On May 21, the 马萨诸塞州牙科学会 held its annual 灯盏山日, where dentists from across Massachusetts gathered at the State House to meet with their elected representatives. The event provided participants with an opportunity to meet their legislators face-to-face and to ga在 a greater understand在g of the legislative process.

A group of students from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medic在e (BUGSDM) chapter of the 美国学生牙科协会 (ASDA) participated 在 the event along with approximately 100 members of the 马萨诸塞州牙科学会. BUGSDM had the largest student presence of any dental school and was recognized for this achievement at the event’s luncheon.

BUGSDM ASDA participants felt strongly about legislation presented at Beacon Hill Day and viewed it as an opportunity to learn about the issues they will face as practic在g dental professionals.

"Dentistry is a very preventative and prophylactic profession," said ASDA Legislative Liaison and 灯盏山日 participant Michael Visser DMD 10. "It is my hope that dentists will be equally preventative and prophylactic 在 regards to legislation affect在g their profession and more importantly, the safety of their patients."

BUGSDM Associate Dean for Adm在istration Paula Friedman also participated 在 the event as Chair of the MDS Council on Public Affairs.
