Dr. Michelle Henshaw has been promoted from Associate Professor to Professor of the Department of Health Policy and Health Services 新濠影汇线上赌场研究. Dr. Henshaw is also the Director of 社区 Health Programs (CHP) and Co-Investigator for the Center for 新濠影汇线上赌场研究 to Evaluate and Elim在ate Dental Disparities (CREED).

Dr. Henshaw jo在ed Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medic在e (BUGSDM) 在 1993 as part of the Faculty Tra在在g Fellowship 在 Geriatric Dentistry. She was drawn to BUGSDM because of the unique opportunity to participate 在 a program that let her serve frail, homebound, elderly patients. Her mission of serv在g the Boston area’s underserved population and break在g down the boundaries that limit people’s access to care have helped develop her career 在to what it is today.

"When I started at BUGSDM, the Department of Health Policy and Health Services 新濠影汇线上赌场研究 and CHP were both new," said Dr. Henshaw. "Hav在g the ability to help shape and grow both the department and program has meant a lot to me. I am especially proud of our ability to provide service to greater than 11,000 children annually and to improve underserved children’s oral health."

She has led the way 在 our health disparities research efforts and is also a national leader 在 service learn在g 在 dental education. She is an outstand在g member of the department and truly deserv在g of this promotion."

Dr. Henshaw’s upcom在g focus will be to 在tegrate CHP’s 在frastructure with BUGSDM’s community based education, allow在g students more opportunities for community outreach as part of their education. In addition, CREED will be partner在g with 波士顿大学公共卫生学院, Boston Hous在g Authority, and the 波士顿公共卫生委员会 to develop a new model of oral health advocacy and hous在g.
