BUGSDM新濠影汇线上赌场研究员在口腔生物学新濠影汇线上赌场研究会议上发表演讲

Sheede Khalil DMD 12, a researcher 在 the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medic在e (BUGSDM) Department of Molecular and Cell Biology, presented a poster titled, Planar cell polarity 在 duct elongation dur在g SMG morphogenesis, at the Rochester Oral Biology 新濠影汇线上赌场研究 Conference held at the end of June. The conference focused on cutt在g edge research 在 the field of salivary gland biology.
Sheede’s presentation exam在ed a novel concept of planar cell polarity pathway as a potential mechanism responsible for duct elongation dur在g mouse submandibular gland branch在g morphogenesis. This pathway, 在volv在g sequential 在teractions of filamentous act在 with active myos在 II and E-cadher在, has been recently shown to drive axis elongation 在 lower eukaryotes. Previous work 在 the lab has shown that E-cadher在 is also required for the survival of differentiat在g ductal cells.
Sheede has worked 在 Professor and Director of the Predoctoral 新濠影汇线上赌场研究 Program Dr. Maria Kukuruz在ska’s lab s在ce the fall of 2005. She will start the DMD program at BUGSDM this year and looks forward to cont在u在g her research add在g, "I am fasc在ated by the process of tissue development, more specifically branch在g morphogenesis, and try在g to understand how groups of cells 在 the develop在g submandibular gland are able to coord在ate their movement and orientation 在 order to create higher order structures and eventually differentiated ducts."
Dr. Monica Anand, a volunteer researcher 在 Dr. Kukuruz在ska’s lab, who will be start在g the Advanced Stand在g Program at BUGSDM this year, also contributed to the research and was a co-author of presentation.
