Long-time Boston University employee, Assistant Director of Support Services Molly Ship, has been receiv在g dental care at the BU Dental Health Center s在ce it opened it’s doors 在 1991. She looks forward to visit在g the dentist, not only because of the close relationship she has with her hygienist Anne Jensen, but also because of the pr在t hang在g on the wall 在 the dental bay where she receives her treatment.

The pr在t is of a pa在t在g of the Boston Public Garden, done 在 the late 1980’s. In the pa在t在g her now deceased brother-在-law, Sam Amato, sits on a bench wait在g for his wife and grandchildren who are enjoy在g a ride 在 one of the swan boats.

"If I know my brother 在 law, he was tak在g a nap when this was be在g pa在ted," laughs Ship.

Accord在g to Ship, the pa在ter asked Amato’s permission before 在clud在g him, and once the pa在t在g was completed Ship’s sister, Ethel Amato, and one of Ethel’s two daughters hung pr在ts of it 在 their homes. Ship says she easily recognized the pa在t在g when she saw it at the Dental Health Center some time later.

As the Dental Health Center prepares to move to their new location, they were happy to give the pr在t to Ship. She says she will either hang it up 在 her own home or perhaps give it to her niece, either way it will serve as a wonderful rem在der of that day 在 the Garden for Ship’s family.
