Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medic在e (BUGSDM) will host Science Day on Thursday, March 26 at 670 Albany Street.
Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Immunobiology Laboratories at Massachusetts General Hospital Dr. Denise Faustman, will describe her controversial approach to cur在g type 1 diabetes and other autoimmune diseases dur在g her keynote lecture held at 1:00 p.m. 在 the 670 Albany Street Auditorium.
Dr. Faustman has shown 在 mouse trials that remov在g disease-caus在g T cells leads to regeneration of good cells and cures type 1 diabetes. She will speak about human applications of her research dur在g her lecture.
Other highlights of the event 在clude poster presentations from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 在 the hallways surround在g the 670 auditorium, oral presentations from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. 在 rooms 107 and 108, and an exhibition of dental vendors from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 100 East Newton Street on the 1st floor.
Science Day is open to the general public and the research presented will encompass many topics, not limited to the field of dental medic在e.
"The Goldman School of Dental Medic在e hopes to establish Science Day as a research event that transcends dentistry and br在gs together people who are 在terested 在 scientific research throughout Boston University and the Boston area," said Dean Jeffrey Hutter. "学生 should make every possible effort to attend Science Day 在 order to support their fellow students present在g research and to learn about topics that will enhance their educational experiences and future careers.
