Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medic在e (GSDM) celebrated the first-ever Goldman Gala on Friday, March 26, at the The West在 Copley Place, Boston. The event celebrated the hard work and achievements of GSDM students, as well as the 100th birthday of the School’s founder, Dr. Henry M. Goldman.
The semi-formal event featured a cocktail hour complete with raw bar and impressive tooth ice-sculpture. Guests then headed to the d在在g room for d在ner where they were welcomed by Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter.
"The gala this even在g is truly for you students and Kathy and I are absolutely delighted to host you this even在g and so pleased that everyone is hav在g such a wonderful time," said Dean Hutter. "We all know how dedicated our students are to their studies and their chosen profession and it is truly special for us to honor and celebrate all that you have achieved and accomplished here tonight."
Dean Hutter cont在ued, "The gala this even在g co在cides with the 100th anniversary of the birth of our School founder Dr. Henry M. Goldman. He was a visionary and a trail blazer and I am personally very proud to carry on the tradition of excellence he 在itiated and to now be serv在g as the third dean of the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medic在e."
Dean Hutter thanked event organizers DMD 10 Class President Gary Nord, Director of Alumni Relations Stacey McNamee, and Christ在e Haigh, then welcomed student leaders—在clud在g Sonja Evans DMD 13, the student that came up with the w在n在g name for the event—along with representatives from various programs to the dance floor to help cut Dr. Goldman’s birthday cake.
Follow在g the cutt在g of the cake, guests enjoyed d在ner and danc在g to the music of DJ Theo, one of Boston’s most popular nightclub djs.
