Jacqueline Gallant Honored for 25 Years of Service to the School

Patient Financial Services Manager of Insurance & Claims Jacqueline Gallant joined the staff of GSDM in 1985. On March 30, Gallant was honored for 25 years of service to the School at the 2011 Service Recognition Dinner and Awards Presentation.
She began at GSDM as a Project Database Manager/Research Assistant and then in 1991 was promoted to Data Analyst Technician/Claims Administrator. In 1994, she advanced to Claims Administrator; in 1997, to Benefits and Claims Manager, BU Dental Health Plan; and finally to her current position in 2009.
“In my 25 years I have seen a lot of changes,” said Gallant. One example: “In my position with the Boston University Dental Health Plan I was given the opportunity to see the progress on how data was collected and stored at Boston University. I had gone from a main frame in 1985, to PC and to the current server in 2011.”
Prior to coming to Boston University, she worked as a Payroll Clerk in New Bedford, Massachusetts for five years. She has been married to her husband, Edward Gallant, since 1968 and they have three children together. Her daughters, Christina and Cynthia, are both graduates of Boston University. “This has been a great achievement for both my husband and I,” she said.
When asked what some of the highlights of her career at GSDM have been so far, she mentioned her mentor Associate Professor Dr. Joseph Boffa, who mentored her from 1991 through 2008. She also added, “I enjoyed most helping employees in the reimbursement of dental claims under the Boston University Dental Health Plan.”
“Congratulations to Jacqueline Gallant,” said Dean Jeffery W. Hutter. “She has been an exemplary member of the staff and GSDM community for the last 25 years and I hope she continues with us for many more!”
