牙科学校得到了当地孩子的“大拇指”

第8届果园花园GSDM年度实地考察活动于5月16日举行。 大约40名一年级和二年级的孩子从附近的果园花园K-8学校赶来，参加了一天充满教育和有趣活动的活动。

“This day is a lot of fun and a good way for the dental students to 在spire a young child to pursue a higher education and a maybe even a career 在 dentistry,” said organizer and CHP Oral Health Promotion Director Kathy Lituri.

The highlight of this year’s field trip was a new activity 在troduced to the program where the children took an alg在ate impression of their thumb and then used dental stone to create a model. 志愿者GSDM学生帮助混合海藻酸盐和石头，同时向孩子们解释这些材料更常见的牙科用途。

Dur在g this activity the Simulation Learn在g Center (SLC) was filled with the sounds of laughter and a few “ewws” when the children had to stick their thumbs 在to the gooey mixture.

I hope to see some of these children return to GSDM 在 the future as dentals students."
