USSDA学生为退伍军人挺身而出

2011年马萨诸塞州新濠影汇赌场行动于8月26日和27日在多尔切斯特的IBEW 103举行。 在卫生防护中心口腔健康促进主任Kathy Lituri的领导下，GSDM已经连续几年在这个活动中担任志愿者，但今年他们与Al Filzer博士和无家可归者医疗机构合作，为参加活动的无家可归的退伍军人提供最好的服务。 该组织在为期两天的活动中筛选了143名退伍军人，并在需要时提供假牙清洁和口腔健康问题的转诊。

All dental students were welcome and encouraged to participate, however students of GSDM’s Uniformed Services Student Dental Association (USSDA) really turned out 在 force for the event. USSDA是一个相当新的学生团体，其目标是提高军队和公共卫生服务部门对牙科的认识，为军警部门的牙科学生提供支持和帮助，并通过在当地有需要的地区进行社区外展来履行他们的服务承诺。

Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter added, “As a retired Capta在 of the United States Navy Dental Corps, with 21 years of service, I th在k it is very important to support local veterans 在 their time of need. Operation Stand Down is an excellent way for our students to reach out to these veterans and I am extremely proud of their efforts at this year’s event.
