Dr. Pushkar Mehra Discusses Orthognathic Surgery at Poland Dental Conference

Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BUGSDM) Associate Professor and Director of Oral Surgery and Boston Medical Center Dr. Pushkar Mehra was invited to speak at the Third Annual West/East Dental Conference in Warsaw, Poland. The conference took place at the Medical University of Warsaw and was attended by approximately 1,500 clinicians from across Europe. Doctor Mehra lectured as a featured speaker in the main symposium of the European Congress on “Contemporary Concepts in Orthognathic Surgery”.

"Orthognathic function and cosmetic jaw reconstruction is a surgery that has been around for 20 years," said Dr. Mehra. "Until recently, the surgery consisted of multiple four-hour segments, but using new technology we are able to perform surgical movements and procedures that enable us to complete the entire process in one longer surgery. This makes it easier for the patient because they only have to recover from one surgery and they, as well as their family members, only need to take time off from work for one procedure."
