GSDM Endodontic Residents Celebrated at Graduation Dinner

On Thursday, May 12, 2016, residents of the Advanced Specialty Education Program in Endodontics Class of 2016 at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) celebrated their graduation in the Melcalf Trustee Ballroom. They were joined by family, friends, faculty, staff, and alumni of the program, who travelled from as far away as Singapore to attended the celebration.
The celebration was hosted by Director of the Advanced Specialty Education Program in Endodontics Dr. Sami Chogle, along with the support of the GSDM Endodontic Alumni Association. Dr. Chogle welcomed the 125 guests in attendance and introduced all of the faculty and staff—who were instrumental in helping the residents make it to this point. He then took a moment to welcome and introduce each of the residents individually.
Following the introductions, Dr. Chogle presented the class of 2016 and gave each graduating resident a commemorative plaque. He congratulated each of them individually and announced what their plans were after graduation.
Dr. Chogle spoke about how the graduating residents are now part of a much larger “family,” and that they are encouraged to continue to be an active participant in this “family.”
Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter spoke next. Dean Hutter congratulated the graduates and echoed Dr. Chogle’s sentiment encouraging the graduates to stay active in GSDM’s Department of Endodontics throughout their professional careers.
Dr. Juan Savelli ENDO 03, President of the GSDM Endodontic Alumni Association, also said a few words to the graduates. In his remarks, Dr. Savelli encouraged the graduates to participate in as many Endodontic Alumni Association events as they can, as the success of the Advanced Specialty Education Program in Endodontics is influenced by the consistent activity of its alumni.
Dr. Nauman Chatha ENDO 16 was elected to speak on behalf of the class. He amused the guests with stories of his class and also spoke about the crucial role that faculty and staff have had in the education of all of the residents.
Dr. Mohamed Ahmed next presented a video that featured comments from all the Department of Endodontics’ residents, faculty, and staff.
“Congratulations to the Class of 2016,” said Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter. “It is a wonderful achievement to have successfully completed such a prestigious program, and I wish you the best in all your future endeavors.”
