Professor Rachel Abercrombie co-authors two papers

Professor Rachel Abercrombie co-authored two recent papers on novel earthquake behavior.

The first involved a large earthquake in the equatorial Atlantic Ocean that was recorded by a UK deployment of ocean bottom seismometers. It was published in Nature Geoscience, and featured in various news articles, including a well-written piece in National Geographic.

The second, published in Science Advances, describes changes in the behavior of repeating earthquakes following a large earthquake on the subduction zone off of Costa Rica, and provides insights into the way these damaging plate boundaries behave.
