School of Law Professor Kevin Outterson appeared before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce on September 19 to discuss how to better combat antibiotic-resistant viruses. Dr. Outterson, an expert in the legal issues surrounding antimicrobal resistance, walked the committee through what he calls the broken business model for antibiotics. He was joined by several other antibiotics experts from academia, industry and the non-profit community.
