address society’s most pressing challenges.
Project Overview
We are currently working on a solution (Project Website: www.helpfie.com) that seeks to provide
emergency care instructions to bystanders to empower them to help before arrival of trained rescuers.
By designing an easy and convenient experience using the human voice and multimedia technology, we
seek to empower bystanders to provide quality medical emergency care before the arrival of trained
rescuers. By instilling a culture of action, we hope to increase the survival rates of medical emergencies in non-hospital settings.
We are looking to bring on a Part-time Intern (10-20hrs/wk) to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of Designers, Software Developers, Clinicians and End Users to develop a multi-media solution that improves a bystander’s performance of emergency care.
As a social impact venture, all your creativity and expertise would save someone’s life, improve their
health outcomes or relieve pain and suffering.
Key Responsibilities
– Research, curate and drive review of emergency care instructions for the lay public
– Create easy to understand lightweight step by step instructions that are easy to render in high
fidelity on a mobile phone
– Collaborate with and engage with a multi-disciplinary team of designers, developers,
clinicians, emergency medicine SMEs and end users
– Lead a crowd-sourcing campaign to create an AED registry
– Conduct user experience testing and software regression testing
– Assist with strategy and planning of the software pilot
Qualifications
– Candidate for a Master in Public Health (MPH)
– Experience in storyboarding, and product design
– Passionate about social impact and global mhealth solutions
– Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies is an added bonus
– A team-oriented self-starter that works well alone and with a team and is dedicated to
quality,highly creative and has a strong attention to detail
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
