Ibis is currently looking for a dynamic Project Manager for our Johannesburg office. S/he will report to the office director. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating several ongoing and new quantitative studies. Specific duties will include assisting with the organization and content of training for field-based data collection staff; managing day-to-day implementation of the studies including tracking recruitment, retention and adherence to the study protocols; conducting regular monitoring visits at the study sites; overseeing data management activities, including all quality control activities; writing reports for the study investigators and funders; and contributing to data analysis and manuscript preparation. S/he may also contribute to the management of ongoing or planned qualitative studies and will assist with project and office logistics and support as needed. The Project Manager will also be expected to represent Ibis in various settings, manage existing collaborations, and assist with development of funding proposals and collaborations in the region.

Qualifications
1. Masters degree and/or equivalent degree/experience with focus on reproductive health, public health, or similar area.
2. At least 2 years experience in project management. Experience coordinating or implementing clinical or quantitative research projects preferred.
3. One or more years of experience with quantitative research methods and analysis techniques, including a solid understanding of analytical software packages, such as Atlas-ti, SPSS, or STATA.
4. Experience conducting GCP and protocol-related monitoring for clinical trials.
5. Interest in and experience with qualitative research is a plus.
6. Excellent organizational, writing, and presentation skills; attention to detail.
7. Ability to make and carry out decisions independently; creativity and flexibility; dedication to team building, staff development, and collaboration, particularly cross-culturally.
8. Willingness to travel.
9. Open minded and a sense of humor.
10. Proficiency in spoken/written French a plus.

Salary: Depends on experience/qualifications.

Dates and term of assignment: Term begins as soon as possible. Contract for one year, renewable depending on funding.
