Hariri BU Science Day Awards

The Hariri Institute for Computing and Computational Science & Engineering announces two new BU Science Day awards. These awards will be given annually to graduate students participating in the BU Science and Engineering Day, whose research exemplifies the power from adopting a computational approach in science and engineering.

Two $1,000 awards will be given (each split $500 for the student and $500 for the advisor).

  • The Hariri Award for Transformative Computational Science Research
  • The Hariri Award for Innovative Computing Models, Algorithms, and Systems

The mission of the Rafik B. Hariri Institute for Computing and Computational Science & Engineering is to initiate, catalyze, and propel collaborative, interdisciplinary research and training initiatives for the betterment of society by promoting (a) discovery and innovations through the use of computational and data-driven approaches, and (b) advances in the science of computing inspired by challenges in arts and sciences, engineering, and management disciplines. Endowed by a generous gift from Bahaa Hariri, the Institute strives to create and sustain a community of scholars who believe in the transformative potential of computational perspectives in research and education. This vision is realized through the support of a portfolio of ambitious computational research projects, and forward-looking educational and outreach initiatives at Boston University.
