Wednesday, May 3, 2017
5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Hariri Institute for Computing
111 Cummington Mall
The Institute is pleased to host over the CS558, “Network Security,” student poster session. Led by Institute Fellow and Computer Science Associate Professor Sharon Goldberg, CS558 provides an introduction to network security for BU undergraduate seniors, masters, and PhD students. Topics covered include applied cryptography, web security, and network protocol security. With over 100 students in this semester’s course section, the poster session will feature over twenty team projects, each of which audits the security of a popular website. Students audit how sites use encryption, how they track visitors through the use of cookies, and the procedures they use to keep user information private and secure.
This event is open to the public and attendees from the local cybersecurity community are invited and encouraged to attend. The poster session provides a unique opportunity to meet with almost one hundred soon-to-graduate students that are interested in cybersecurity.
