BU Alums Strive As Successful Data Scientists
BU Today published an article titled “10 Alums Working in Data Science Share Their Career Path Stories” that features prosperous alums who have successfully made their mark in the field of computing and data sciences. With “data scientist” being named one of the best jobs in America, based on indicators such as salary, job satisfaction and the availability of jobs in the market it is great to see Boston University take initiatives to provide their students and faculty the opportunity to get involved in this field.
From corporate giants such as Google and TJX, to financial startups such as Stash, Boston University alums work as data scientists across different industries such as biotech, banking, and IT just to name a few.

Azer Bestavros the Founding Director of the Hariri Institute for Computing at Boston University has also been mentioned in the article published by BU Today. He is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science in the College of Arts and Sciences and holds affiliated appointments in Electrical and Computer Engineering and in Systems Engineering.
