ISE Annual Mini-Retreat: 11/8/17
Over forty staff and other ISE participants within BU attended the second annual mini-retreat on November 8th. Much of the discussion focused on opportunities ahead, based on an inspiring presentation by Eric Toone, Executive Managing Director and Science Lead of Breakthrough Energy Ventures, and a detailed overview of the current status of federal funding by Emily Burlij, the Associate Director of Federal Relations at Boston University. Peter Fox-Penner, Director of ISE, provided a summary of the Institute’s growth over the prior year, and six of our affiliated faculty and non-resident senior fellows gave short talks the provided a snapshot of the Institute’s work.
