Initiative on Cities Kicks Off 2015 Menino Survey of Mayors
On Friday June 19, the Initiative on Cities (IOC) will officially kick off the 2015 Menino Survey of Mayors at the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) Annual Meeting in San Francisco.
Sponsored by Citi and supported by USCM, the 2015 Menino Survey expands on the IOC’s 2014 Mayors Leadership Survey by delving deeper into the challenges and opportunities facing America’s mayors while touching on new urban leadership areas like public safety, infrastructure investment, and financial health.
Rededicated in honor of the late IOC co-founder and former Mayor of Boston Thomas Menino, the Menino Survey of Mayors continues his legacy of giving a voice to the priorities and concerns of our nation’s urban leaders. As the only nationally representative survey of American mayors, the Menino Survey is a vital tool for identifying mayoral needs and understanding the issues facing our city leaders.
The IOC research team will be conducting interviews with mayors throughout the summer, beginning with in-person interviews at the USCM Annual Meeting June 19-21. All answers and results are anonymous. The Survey’s Final Report will be released in January 2016 at the USCM Winter Meeting in Washington DC.
If you are interested in learning more about the Menino Survey or if you know a mayor who would like to participate, please contact Conor LeBlanc at the Initiative on Cities at conorleb@bu.edu or by phone at 617-358-8086.
