COVID-19 in the Americas: Some Reflections on Public Health

On Wednesday, April 22, at the Center for Latin American Studies faculty meeting, Veronika Wirtz, Associate Professor at Boston University’s School of Public Health, gave a presentation on the challenges of Latin American countries in the face of the coronavirus crisis, among others, the high prevalence of comorbidity in the population, the weakness of health systems and large informal sectors.
