Prof. Najam lectures in Qatar and Pakistan

Pardee Center Director, Prof. Adil Najam, lectured on “Environment, Development and Security: The Case of Climate Change” at Qatar University in Doha, Qatar and at the Pakistan Academy of Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan.

These talks were part of a series of lectures and events in Qatar and Pakistan that Prof. Najam spoke at.

Both lectures attracted large and distinguished audiences of leading academics, government official and civil society scholars. The lectures focussed on the complex but deep linkages between development, human security and climate change concerns, particularly for developing countries and for the poorest populations within these countries. Prof. Najam argued that climate change cannot be understood in a developing country context, except as a development issue.
