Faculty Fellow Muhammad Zaman writes op-ed on Disease Control in the Huffington Post

Pardee Center Faculty Fellow Dr. Muhammad Zaman wrote an op-ed on a grounds-up approach to tackling disease for the Huffington Post today. His piece is a zaman-threaction to the January 30th declaration made in London by Bill Gates, WHO, and a number of major pharmaceutical companies to eradicate ten diseases afflicting the world’s poor in ten years.

“The London declaration is a breath of fresh air, yet the long-term impact can only be sustainable through local innovative capacity building. This is a large-scale and systems level grand challenge that requires multi-faceted actions to provide short and long-term solutions,” says Dr. Zaman.

Dr. Zaman is an assistant professor of Biomedical Engineering and Medicine at the College of Engineering at Boston University.
