Marta Marello, Project Manager of The Enhancing Energy Efficiency for Urban Housing research project for the The Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, is featured in a news article and a similar feature in the 2014 annual report from Wells Fargo. The article, titled “Boston community teams up to improve energy efficiency with clean technology,” highlights Marello’s work in Boston’s Madison Park Village, a low-income housing project in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. Professor Robert Kaufmann, of BU’s Earth and Environment Department, is also featured.

The project, which is supported by a corporate gift from Wells Fargo, is intended to determine which factors drive energy use in housing projects and what methods are most effective for creating greater energy efficiency while considering residents’ comfort levels and energy-use needs. The Enhancing Energy Efficiency for Urban Housing project works in collaboration with the University’s Sustainable Neighborhoods Lab, and the Pardee Center serves as its administrative home.
