2013 Pardee Graduate Summer Fellow Awarded EPA STAR Fellowship
Past Pardee Graduate Summer Fellow Margaret Hendrick (2013) was recently awarded the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s STAR Fellowship, a competitive research grant given annually to outstanding students in the field of environmental science. Hendrick, a doctoral candidate in Boston University’s Earth & Environment Department, works alongside Pardee Faculty Fellow Nathan Phillips on the problem of methane emissions from natural gas leaks in urban areas, which pose environmental as well as public health and safety issues. Her research at the Pardee Center similarly explored policy options and methods for cities to replace decaying infrastructure in aging cities in a sustainable fashion.
