Boston University’s annual Giving Day has arrived and we hope that all friends of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies will show their Pardee Pride in whatever way they can! BU Giving Day, held this year on April 5, 2017, is an opportunity for alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends worldwide to spend 24 extraordinary hours giving back.

Giving Day officially kicks off on April 5, 2017, and you can make your gift to help start Giving Day with the right momentum to make the day a huge success. Your impact on the Pardee School is felt regardless of the size of your gift. Show your Pardee Pride however you can!

For the second year in a row, Pardee School Dean Adil Najam promised that gifts made to the Pardee School as part of BU Giving Day will go toward enhanced student activities and programming. Funds raised during BU Giving Day in 2016 were used for increased support for student travel, research, publications and events for Pardee School students.

To make Giving Day even more interesting, Dean Najam has also personally pledged a Challenge Gift to give $25 for each of the first 50 gifts made to the Pardee School on Giving Day.

“I give to the BU Pardee School because I believe in the idea of the Pardee School,” Najam said. “That we need a truly 21st century school of global affairs at BU that is dedicated to advancing human progress and making the world a better place; that is committed to the education of problem-solvers, change-agents, and leaders of tomorrow; that will work relentlessly to become a world leader in international affairs and global studies; that proudly proclaims that it is global. Now, more than ever, this is an idea worth believing in. I hope you will give to the BU Pardee School for the same reason.”

The Pardee School will be celebrating Giving Day on April 5, 2017 by serving up ice cream from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on the lawn in front of 154 and 156 Bay State Road. Dean Najam and Pardee School faculty members will be on hand to serve ice cream, and there will  also be a raffle and other giveaway prizes.

“The Pardee School is special to me,” said Associate Dean for Academic Affairs William Grimes. “It’s the place where I have been able to thrive as a scholar and teacher, to focus on the policy-relevant questions that excite me, and to be a part of a community that believes in the power of research and teaching to make the world better, safer, and more prosperous. Giving Day is an opportunity to both to give back and to affirm the importance of the work we do and the students we train.”
