Questrom Hosts Mayor Wu’s 2025 Civic Summit
June 20, 2025

The second annual Civic Summit, hosted by the office of Mayor Michelle Wu, was held at Questrom on June 7, 2025. This year’s theme was “Be the Change,” which focused on empowering civic leaders in Boston. Building on last year’s success, the event brought together city residents, organization leaders, and subject matter experts, including faculty from Boston University.
“A standout moment was the inspiring fireside chat with Mayor Michelle Wu and journalist Dart Adams,” says Dean Susan Fournier, “who urged attendees to transform civic ideals into tangible action. Attendees also took part in hands-on workshops led by Boston University faculty and the City of Boston’s Chief Behavioral Health Officer, exploring topics such as negotiation and influence, sustainable community building, urban planning pathways, and mental health leadership.
The day also featured vibrant panel discussions, skill-building sessions, and a networking lunch that brought together emerging and established changemakers—sparking new connections and collaborations across Boston’s neighborhoods.” (Insights @ Questrom).
“Boston University is proud to partner once again with the City of Boston in hosting this year’s Civic Summit at the Questrom School of Business,” said Dr. Melissa L. Gilliam, President of Boston University. “Questrom’s dynamic environment of innovation, leadership, and collaborative thinking provides an ideal setting for meaningful dialogue. We proudly support Mayor Wu’s vision for an engaged and inclusive community and look forward to empowering conversations that will help shape a vibrant and equitable future for Boston.” (massnonprofit.org)
