Limited Submission Nomination Opportunity: 4th World Laureates Forum

OBJECTIVES:

The World Laureate Forum has invited Boston University to nominate up to 3 Ph.D. students or postdoctoral scholars to attend the 4th World Laureate Forum.

The World Laureates Forum (WLF) is the highest-profile scientific conference in Asia and the foremost global scientific gathering of prize-winners, including laureates of the Nobel Prize, Wolf Prize, Lasker Award, Turing Award and etc. The Forum aims to “Promote Basic Science, Advocate for International Cooperation and an Open Exchange of Ideas, and Support the Development of Youth”. It has been successfully held for three consecutive years. Last year, there are 137 world laureates (including 61 Nobels) and over 200 young scientists / researchers joined the forum. And the youth development will continue to be the priority of the forum. This year, by attending the forum, the young researchers will have the opportunity to join various seminars and themed sessions including poster display, where their works will be reviewed by laureates

ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS:

Potential nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • PhD students or postdoctoral fellows
  • Have made outstanding achievements in their own respective areas
  • Published papers on top journals in their own respective areas
  • Applicants of Young Scientists/Researchers Awards are preferred

INTERNAL SELECTION PROCESS:

Interested investigators should submit the following materials via InfoReady Review by DATE: 9/13/2021

  • Questions outlined in InfoReady Review application;
  • A letter of recommendation from an appropriate department chair, dean, or faculty member
  • A brief statement (up to 2 pages) about the candidate describing their scientific achievements that highlights notable achievements, publications, or awards;
  • Up-to-date CV or biosketch for the candidate.

A faculty committee drawn from both campuses will review internal proposals and select nominees. Foundation Relations will work with the nominees to develop and submit the institutional nomination letter and applicant materials by 9/13/2021.
