Ithaca College – Latino/a/x Studies

I am writing to inform you of a tenure-eligible Assistant or Associate Professor position in Latino/a/x Studies at the Center for the Study of Culture, Race and Ethnicity (CSCRE) at Ithaca College to begin in August 2022. We are seeking an interdisciplinary scholar who specializes in Latino/a/x Studies whose work addresses racial injustice and modes of resistance as related to Latino/a/x peoples in the United States (see link below for full job description). The deadline to apply for full consideration is October 15, 2021.

We would greatly appreciate your assistance with identifying potential candidates for the position and encouraging them to apply. Additionally, please feel free to forward the attached job description to colleagues and relevant networks, particularly those that reach underrepresented groups whose exclusion from the academy has been longstanding.

The primary mission of the CSCRE is to prepare students to understand how race, power, and resistance shape people’s identities and life chances. For this reason, we are particularly interested in candidates who have relevant teaching experience and/or a record of scholar-activism with underrepresented and/or marginalized groups in the academy. We have a new major in Race, Power, and Resistance as well as established minors in Asian American, Latino/a/x Studies, African Diaspora Studies, and Native American and Indigenous Studies. The CSCRE is committed to innovative interdisciplinary research, has the advantage of small class sizes and close interpersonal contact with students, and enjoys a community of scholars in Ithaca who pursue similar interests.
