Gonzalez-Arias Gives Lecture
Francisca Gonzalez-Arias, a longstanding part-time lecturer in Spanish for BU, gave a talk at the recent Emilia Pardo Bazán en su centenario conference. The conference celebrated the life and work of Emilia Pardo Bazán, a prominent novelist and short story writer in late 19th century Spain. Gonzalez-Arias’s talk, titled “Puente trasatlántico: Las traducciones al inglés de obras de Emilia Pardo Bazán en la sociedad finesecular estadounidense,” examined translations of the author’s work published in the United States during her lifetime.
