BU Language Brown Bag, Spring ’22

We invite you to submit a proposal to present at our Brown Bag Workshop Series in Spring 2022 for language faculty and graduate students. We welcome proposals on any language pedagogical topic of interest. Presentations have typically explored innovative practices in teaching foreign languages using media, arts, authentic materials, remote and LfA learning practices and other relevant topics.

You are also invited to share and present on what you have learned or presented at conferences such as MaFLA, NECTFL, ACTFL, NeMLA, TESOL, NHAWLT, NERALLT etc.

Come share your teaching ideas either by presenting or attending our Brown Bag Workshop Series. These sessions offer a casual way to interact with your colleagues and open up the floor for conversation on teaching foreign languages.

Guidelines for Proposals:

Please provide a brief description of your topic in 200 words or less, indicating the focus, content, and a tentative title. The Google form for submitting abstracts for contributed presentations is now open and can be accessed  here.

Our Brown Bags have an informal and casual format, where we share teaching approaches and practices or an idea we have learned at a conference. Unless otherwise requested, presentations are scheduled for 30 minutes with an additional 15 minutes reserved for Q&A and discussion. Presenters should prepare to have the total allotted time covered, share student work, and lead a discussion among attendants.

Please submit your proposal by January 20, 2022
