Giving Day a Big RS Sucess!
Romance Studies had a tremendous showing for Giving Day 2022! We won one of the CAS Giving Day Challenges and placed fourth in another.
- Romance Studies placed first in the Most Improved Challenge (i.e., largest percentage increase in number of donors), with 84 donors, a 365% increase over 2021 (prize of $10,000).
- Those 84 donors also put us at fourth in the Donor Challenge (i.e., total number of donors) (prize of $2,000).
We raised $4,011; with the bonuses, that puts us at a grand total of $16,011 for the day!
Giving Day was special for the RS Department this year as we used it to focus on honoring and remembering our late colleague Carrie O’Connor, who died in a tragic accident in September 2020. We are starting a special memorial fund that will enable our undergraduates to study, as she did, in France and elsewhere in the Francophone world.
