Nogales Publishes Book
José Luis Nogales, doctoral student in our Hispanic Language & Literatures program, has published a monograph on Mexican writer Sergio Pitol. Great work, José!
Hijo de todo lo visto y lo soñado: La narrativa breve de Sergio Pitol offers a comprehensive reading of the short narrative of Sergio Pitol (1933-2018): from his first short stories to the hybrid writings of his last years. It illuminates unknown or disregarded aspects of the work of this Mexican writer, and inquires into the place that his figure occupies with respect to other Hispanic American writers of his time. The book received the second prize in the monograph competition “Nuestra América 2018,” held by the Provincial Government of Seville (Spain).
