French PhD Students Organize Successful French Film Festival

Romance Studies graduate students in French, Tiffany Bailey and Evgeniya Prikhodko, recently organized and put on the Albertine Cinémathèque film festival at Boston University! They chose two contemporary films, two classic films, and two films from the selection of French-Senegalese director Alice Diop to complete their French and Francophone program. The festival ran for three weeks and attracted a good crowd from the BU community and beyond.

Tiffany and Evgeniya also led two successful panel discussions organized after the screenings: On March 17, Prof. Liliane Duséwoir and three undergraduate students participated in a panel discussing the film Little Girl. On March 31, the screening of Bamako was followed by a Q&A session with Prof. Odile Cazenave, Visiting Professor Mamoutou Coulibaly, and RS French graduate student Beth Woods. Please join us in celebrating the closing of yet another successful French and Francophone Film Festival on campus.

And many thanks to Tiffany and Evgeniya for all of their hard work on this project!
