Professor Harrowitz is the director of the Elie Wiesel Center for Jewish Studies, the coordinator of the major and minor program in Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Studies, and the head of the 意大利 section in the department of 浪漫的新濠影汇线上赌场研究.
Her research and teaching interests include nineteenth- and twentieth-century 意大利 literature and Holocaust film and literature. Her publications include 普里莫·列维和幸存者的身份 (2016), 反犹主义、厌女症与文化差异的逻辑：玛蒂尔德·塞劳和切萨雷·隆布罗索 (1995), the edited collection 被玷污的伟大：反犹主义和文化英雄 (1995), as well as the co-edited volume (with Barbara Hyams) 犹太人与性别：对奥托·魏宁格的回应 (1996). Her work also includes articles on Primo Levi, Giorgio Bassani, Carlo Levi, Edgar Allan Poe, and Margherita Sarfatti.
Her courses include the topics of modern 意大利 literature and film, fascism and the Holocaust in Italy, and Holocaust literature and film.
