Helen completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Master’s degree in Biotechnology at Texas Tech University, where she studied plant genetics and evolution in the laboratory of Matt Olson and created a model of C4 photosynthetic acclimation under Nick Smith. 随后，海伦在雷神BBN技术公司工作，专注于合成生物学设计-构建-测试-学习周期的自动化。 自从加入Segrè实验室以来，海伦一直致力于为彗星开发软件，并新濠影汇线上赌场研究海洋异养细菌的代谢。
