A Warm Welcome

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Karen Carroll Bennett as the school’s new Associate Dean of Administration, effective January 1, 2015.

Ms. Bennett comes to Boston University from Tufts University, where she was Director of Business Operations for the past two years. Before that Ms. Bennett had a long career at WGBH, Boston’s public television station, including most recently serving as Director of Administration, National Programming.

Ms. Bennett brings to the role leadership experience, a track record of excellence in management, and boundless enthusiasm for the mission of our school. I am delighted to have Ms. Bennett on board as a core member of the school’s leadership team and look forward to the whole school community having an opportunity to meet Ms. Bennett at our first school-wide assembly in January. Meanwhile, please do drop by and say hello; Ms. Bennett sits in Pat O’Brien’s old office in Talbot.

I would like to thank the Search Advisory Group for their work on the search. Thank you to Suzette Levenson; Deans Mark Prashker, Lisa Sullivan, Harold Cox, and Roberta White; and Professors Les Boden and David Rosenbloom. Thank you also to Justine de Marrais for managing the process and to a large number of faculty and staff who met with candidates throughout the search.

Sandro Galea, MD, DrPH
Dean and Professor, Boston University School of Public Health
